Curated Gallery of Exceptional S50 Images

Some folks turn their nose up at the Seestar. “It only has a 50mm aperture,” they say. “You can't take long expsures with an alt-az mount” they say. “The camera can't compare with new astro cameras,” they say. Bull.

This page is dedicated to extraordinary Seestar astrophotography, the best of the best (and a few historically significant images). Here you'll see what the community generally considers excellent results produced by the Seestar.

Then order in which the images appear is more or less random and more or less based on which one was added last. More or less.

Twin Quasars by Steve Knight.
Actually a single quasar 8.7 billion light-years away.
Light bent by an intervening galaxy creates two images,
each magnitude 17 and 6 arcseconds apart.
One image is 14 months older because the light
traveled farther because of lensing.
30 min of 10 sec exposures.
